In order to construct the list - you will need to go into the field and meet with the providers to determine; appropriateness of site, discussion of parameters for Service Learning opportunity, Relationship Development with the person or people the students' will be reporting to on site, and Discussion of Expectations.
Here is St. Vincent University' Service Learning Video. Though this is a secular program, and that message is present - I use it to show my students how Service Learning not only impacts those that are served - but also those who go into the project and facilitate the program. The students portfolio's that are created often reflect the feelings and attitudes that are presented in this video.
